We are students from Multimedia University Johor Campus, currently we are working on a project name A LOST MEMORY. It's a chinese drama genre short film.

A Lost Memory this title is all about the memory of our main character “Nana” with her father that is vanish for the pass 20 years. Throughout those 20 years living without her father, during her most important day in her life, her wedding day, he appears.

This story is being inspired by the experience of the director that grew up in a single parent’s family. Sudden appearance of someone important but that is long gone in her life, making her being anxious on her big day.

Her parents divorced when she is young, she always wanted to know the reason behind those decision, which means a lot to herself throughout her life, but will Nana get the answer she seeks?

Why this story is important? We often being taught that children shouldn't care about adult's matter, but do people realise that often adult's decision always impact on a children's world? Do children really need to grow up with the shadow given by the parents? These incidents such as divorced happens around us everyday especially in this modern era, it might be normal to the majority, but is it normal for the people involved?

Responsibility is also a main focus in the story. The responsibility of being a parents especially a father.

This story also specifically chosen a theme of Chinese traditional wedding, showing the uniqueness of Malaysian’s Chinese traditional culture.

A passionate film student that wanted to express and tell stories through film, have experience in direction for some short films and short documentaries. I have plenty of stories from myself and from the people I know and film is the best platform for me to share my story to the world and received the message that I want to portray.

AUSTIN GUEK (PRODUCER)      (Middle-Back Row)

A 21 years old teenager that have strong passion to work in entertainment industry especially film & music. Learn bits and pieces from different film professional as much as possible to enrich my own knowledge. Life always gets excited with one step outside my own comfort zone, and that’s what I like.

Not a typical storyteller that loves to explore many new ways for storytelling and hope to gain new experience every time.

A person who fully passionate in cinematography skill and new style editing. Full experience in technical stuff by shooting wedding before entering film school. Agility and sharp decision on set.

He’s a man who has been loving cameras and filmmaking for years. He would like to try something unique and difference in filmmaking.

A teen that willing to try new things in filmmaking. As an editor, I always tell myself don’t only be a cutter but also be a storyteller.

BUDGETING

As you seen below, these are a simple breakdown of our project budget spending.

We break down the project into 5 sections. The details of what's under the section will be shown below.

This is a short film about wedding and we tried to minimise the story to as small scale as possible. However, it’s still a wedding day, there’s need in different cast and crowd in film range from bridesmaid, groomsmen, matchmaker, cousin & relatives. It’s challenging for us, but we will definitely do our best to manage it!
